"The Lobby”

Creating A new center to help catalyze the creative arts in Oakland to be called “The Lobby.” This Building  would be available to provide artists opportunity to network and access key information. 

Workforce Preparation—Media Arts

Align the Needs of Specific Employers with the Offerings of the Region’s Education and Training Institutions

A specific initiative—hold workshop with heads of graphic/digital arts department of major employers and heads of institutions.  to changes in what/how these skills are taught.

Marketing/Branding                                               Brand and market Oakland as a center for the creative arts.

Arts Business Climate Improvement

Review, rationalize and reform City’s regulatory posture with respect to filming and arts events.

Creative Arts Cluster                                                                                                                                                       

The Creative Arts Cluster Group has identified and is working on a number of strategic initiatives
with the objective of growing and nurturing the arts, film, digital media, music, entertainment,
and hospitality industries in Oakland and the East Bay.

Creative Arts
The Oakland region’s Creative Arts Cluster is comprised of a variety of key institutions and companies, including the California College of Arts, Expression College of Digital Arts, Mario Chiodo Studios, the Crucible, and a hundreds of design, production, and artist studios.
