1. Support the growth and development of the Bay Area World Trade Center (BAWTC)

Establish and grow the Bay Area World Trade Center in a marquee building that allows for greater visibility for the Center as well as additional meeting space than it has at its current location.  The BAWTC is working to develop a strategy for a suitable location for a World Trade Center building, with Oakland as the primary focus for this establishment.

Champions:  Bay Area World Trade Center.

2. Implement a Comprehensive International Trade Strategy

Capture additional international trade business my more effectively marketing the City as a strategic location for international business.  Do this by: (1) expanding Oakland’s conference, convention, and hotel capacity to accommodate trade shows, conferences, and their participants; (2) expanding the activities of the Bay Area World Trade Center.
