To meet the Partnership’s goals of job creation and greater access to employment opportunities by Oakland residents, the Healthcare Workforce Sub-Group has been established to include representatives from all of the organizations providing training and job placement related to the industry. 

Many of the cluster’s employers are also part of the group.  This group is: (1) engaging more employers in utilizing and informing the public workforce delivery system; (2) improving the information flow between employers and training providers to ensure Healthcare curriculum is market relevant and programs are attuned to changes in the labor market; (3) improving the access and connection between employers, training providers, and job placement agencies (One Stop Career Centers) so that a greater number of Oakland residents can access job opportunities in the Healthcare sector in Oakland; (4) showcasing “success” stories (employers who are hiring locally and/or working more proactively with the local workforce delivery system to improve and utilize it; training programs that are expanded or created to enhance career ladder opportunities for local residents).
